Now it’s time to find your wedding gown! We know you must have a lot of questions, so we've gathered some helpful information to prepare you for your appointment!
Appointments are required for a full bridal consultation. An experienced bridal stylist will be assigned to you to navigate our lovely gown selection and assist you in adjusting, clipping and stylizing. Initial bridal consultations are 90 minutes from start to finish. Feel free to bring in inspiration photos that may provide your stylist a better sense of what you are envisioning for your big day.
A credit card is now required to make an appointment. If you no-show, cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. If you need to make any changes to your appointment, we respectfully require you to provide a 24 hour notice. Selecting your wedding gown is a very special moment in your planning process, and should be an exciting and stress-free experience. This time can be very emotional for the bride. Make sure you bring those special people whose opinion you rely on and respect :)
Due to the amount of daily appointments we kindly ask that you limit your guests to 3 people. This way we can ensure comfortable seating for everyone. Although we love our little ones, we ask that children under 12 do not attend the appointment.
Psst...bring your own champagne and flutes. Sorry, but food is not allowed.
Please bring all undergarments to your appointments including underwear, shapwear, a strapless bra, and shoes with the approximate heel height you plan on using with your wedding gown. All of these items will have an impact on the size and length of gown we order for you, so these little details make a big difference.

Yes, we do! We actually encourage them! Having those pictures will also help you get an idea of how a gown photographs, but keep in mind, professional photography on your wedding day will make a huge difference! We also encourage you to post your images on social media and tag @mariposabride. Don't forget to tag us on your wedding photos!
Mariposa Boutique specializes in moderately priced gowns ranging between $1,800 to $4,000; with the average price around $2,500. Prices do not include sales taxes, customization fees, rush fees, alterations, or shipping (if applicable).
Once you’ve selected your gown, the next step is to get it ordered.
We will take your measurements, and depending on the specific designer’s size chart, your stylist will work with you to select your size. Please note that bridal sizing runs very differently than department store sizing. Bridal size charts tend to run small, and most brides fall between sizes. Be prepared that alterations are still required to complete the perfect fit of your dress. A 60% deposit is required in order to place the order with the designer, with the remaining balance due upon pick-up of your gown.
In order to ensure timely arrival and alterations of your gown, we recommend ordering up to a year before the wedding day. Most designers require around 8 months to fabricate and ship your gown to our boutique. Gowns are made by hand, and the process is extensive and delicate. Our designers may offer rush cuts on certain gowns for an additional fee. *Please note, if your wedding is less than 9 months away, ordering a new gown may not be an option. For a quick solution, we do have select sample gowns available to purchase off-the-rack. You may alternatively call to further discuss your options.
Mariposa Boutique does not have an in-house alterations service. However, we do have a list of referrals that you may wish to consult for alterations. Their prices and time frames will vary.
Unfortunately, we do not offer rental gowns. However, we do carry select options of off-the-rack sample gowns that can be purchased on the spot. Most sample sizes start at 12 and up. Be prepared for alterations as well as standard cleaning fees for the gown. We highly recommend to call to schedule this type of appointment to ensure availability of style, color and size.
